Productive Adoption of ICT in Education

Researchers have for a long time talked about the importance of moving from Education 1.0 to 2.0 and 3.0, as a metaphor for how the education system should be developing along the development of the internet, from Web 1.0 to 2.0 and 3.0. For most educators, it’s not yet relevant to go deeper into Web 3.0 for education, as the adult generation of the 21st century hasn't yet mastered how to manage the present influx of technology and how to be positive role models for the younger generation with Web 2.0 and smartphones, particularly as we understand that children emulate behavior. It is, however, fundamental that we talk about how elements of modern pedagogic models could be applied with modern and appropriate ICT tools, with simple shifts in mindset and everyday actions in and around the classroom.
The course ”Productive Adoption of ICT in Education” will provide a practical overview and case studies of successful uses of ICT in education, the underlying principals that any educator must understand, before expecting positive results with technological innovation in their teaching, and in order to assure an optimal learning experience for their students. The trainer draws from own and observed experiences as an innovator in the classroom since 20 years, as an independent researcher of scalable education solutions in developing countries, and as education technology entrepreneur and consultant since the last decade in Finland.
