This past December 11, EdVisto Academy was invited to enjoy its second Demo Day in collaboration with InTech MOM Latam, created and hosted by non other than our own Chief Digital Officer, Andre Echavarria-Johnston, also in the roles as IT Project & Program Manager, Google for Startups Accelerator Mentor, Google Women Techmakers Ambassador, AWS Women Colombia Founder and Microsoft for Startups Founder.
The InTech MOM Latam program aims at developing the tech skills of pregnant women and mothers in need and/or with a calling to reskill themselves for better employment opportunities in an increasingly digital world. The sacrifice of these women, to apply among fierce competition all around Latin America to this unique and fast-growing incubator of female tech talent, and to make it throughout the program until graduation, cannot be overstated. With babies on the way or newly born, calling for constant attention, it can only be joyfully appreciated to have the honor of having these women and their babies on screen presenting their projects. (A note to all women: please never excuse yourselves for having your baby "interrupting" a video call. Your babies are the very essence and purpose of everything we do as human beings!!! 😊)
On the topic of babies, in our recent joint project, building on our pedagogic model for Educational Video Storytelling, our baby mascot "Edi" was finally created. Edi is an AI-powered Socratic facilitator of learning and development of 21st century skills, specifically designed to accompany children aged 8 to 12 in the collaborative creation of their own video projects. As Edi was designed by the latest iteration of incredible InTech MOMS from all over Latin America, this Newsletter will honor them in particular with the following highlights.
First though, please enjoy the presentation of the second iteration of the InTech MOM Latam Demo Week in the following video.
